You never let me in to hell
does that promise ring any bells?
and I feel like the rest don't care,
and they probably don't.
And I know they wouldn't dare
and they probably won't.
I'm not a bad guy to be, I swear
but maybe that's just me
and I see.
20/20 with my glasses on
20-30 years away
2015's what I see right now
This is 20, this is 20.
I wish you let me see you, you know
it's not just 'cause you're a knockout, TK, oh
I know all the rest don't care,
but they don't say
Soon they'll be nothing for me here,
I'll be on my way
I'm not a bad guy to be, I swear
but maybe that's just me
(And I see)

Find It Here
02:31
|

If you want someone to make you happy
you're not gonna find it here
If you like your romance fancy
you're not gonna find it here
There's somewhere you can go
where everything feels new again
and that somewhere
is away from here
If you want something to feel right
look for it over there
If you won't feel bad about last night
You'll be happier over there
There's someone you can try
when the same flavor gets old
and that someone
will make you feel alive again
If you want your dream to last forever
then you can't come back here
Love is a would you rather
stay there or come back here
Sometimes you need to go
and never come back
because when you do
nothing will be the same

You meant so much to me
I'm sad that you're gone
but why would I not be?
when they're tearing down my home
I'd like to go along
those men don't see what I see
and I think this building should stand forever
because it already stands for love
and friends greater than its parts
when you total them all up
I think this place could stand the test of time
even if I don't know how
I've been told people don't like change
I never really knew that until now
I didn't know where to go
when they put me there
but what do I know?
and what did I care?
then I found myself a family
and a second growing up
They're there when you've had too much
or haven't had enough
we are one, united, family
and no one will ever take that away from me
and I think this building could stand forever
because it already stands for love
and friends greater than its parts
when you total them all up
I think this place could stand the test of time
even if I don't know how
I've been told we don't like change
and I know that now
And we could climb up to the roof top
and stand there 'til it caves in
you don't have to stand forever
as long as you stood for something

The Fatal Flaw Of Cool
03:52
|

The bigger they are the harder they fall
so you must be the biggest of them all
the things you say, they all get back to me
a facet of your coward's apathy
I see in your eyes
like a double wide projector
the intent of your façade
breaks under a wise inspector
I know you care and I know that scares you
I see the signs when the white light shines through
but I don't know why
you would try to hide from yourself
The more you strain the harder the fight
the dog's bark is stronger than its bite
but if you give a man a target and a gun
you'll soon find he shot at more than one
but I don't know where you're aiming
I can't see your sights
you can take off your mask
and still be all right
I know you care and I know that scares you
I see the signs when the white light shines through
I know you care, that's okay, it scares you
I see the signs when the white light shines through
but I don't know why
you would try to hide from yourself

We The Spiders
03:58
|

If you've ever seen a spider build a web
it's one of the most beautiful things in the world
and even if you don't like spiders
you've got to appreciate
what they do
If you've ever sat and looked at a spider
they're some of the most interesting people
they're small and timid and afraid
so when you see them,
they're just like you
because we are spiders
we are disgusting
and we are scary
to everyone who's not like us.
Yes, we are spiders
we have four more legs and arms
hiding in our tiny arachnid hearts
yes we are spiders
If you've ever seen a spider spin its silk
it's like weaving a tight rope as you walk across it
if a human could do that
you would be amazed
by that skill
If you've ever heard a spider screaming
when you slam a door near their web
the vibrations make them scatter
as with a crack of thunder
just like you will

You came in looking for something to buy
I don't remember what but I remember your eyes
one was dull green, the other pale gray
they were enough to get me through the day
and the next day and the next day
and the next day too
We only sold simple things, but
candy rings, soap and string were enough
to keep you coming back almost every day to get some more
and keep me transfixed on the bell above the door
when you came in my heart was in my throat
somehow also in my toes
I don't remember anything I said
but I know I meant every word
It took me a month to ask your name
See I was afraid it wasn't gonna be the same
but it was and I was so happy I could die
and I thought "this is why, this is why I'm alive"
"You must be why I am alive"
You told me you were new in town
rolled in from 2 miles east to help your mother around
you hit my arm when I asked what I could do
you asked if I could fix a couple things for you
I drove you home in my dad's brand new Ford,
a Model T that he adored
you gave me your handkerchief when my head got hot,
and I've kept it to this day.
It felt like minutes from then 'til I had to go
It felt like centuries on that boat
I never had a chance to come back
that was hell
But one green and one gray
I'd know those eyes anywhere
you came from across the ocean
like my last, greatest answered prayer
I gave your handkerchief back to you
and I started to break down too
I've asked you so much in my life
but now will you stay with me?
And then you said yes,
and then you said yes.
And I was so happy I could die when I heard that yes
It's been too long, my whole lifetime's past
since I was new to those eyes
